Dogma

Here is a the first of four 2 week projects made for my Reel production class.

My focus of specialization is 3d sculpting and Concept art.

Each week I have set up a strict scheduled to follow, and at the end of every two weeks, I should have a concept creature fully sculpted and rendered out.

I'm calling this piece DOGMA as a shout out to the film which depicts fallen angels. I wanted to follow that theme with this Alien concept I came up with.
It's a exploration of the ancient alien ideas that maybe those who came down and were depicted in religious texts were actually aliens! spooky! I based the glowing head halo idea off of famous religious Icon paintings and their very geometric looking halos.
(I hope to offend no one with taking artistic liberties, this was made entirely for fun and not to poke at religious beliefs!)
